Jaana Viola (b.92) is a visual artist from the Åland Islands, now based in Gothenburg. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts photography (HDK-Valand) and gender studies (Stockholm university), and a master’s degree in fine arts photography (HDK-Valand). She is working with various materials, with photography as a starting point. Her recurring topics are abjection, disgust, desire and longing. She is also one of the co-founders of Rat Studio, an artist-run studio in Gothenburg,
